YPS Psychology provides high quality, accessible, and time-effective psychological support for adults and teenagers. Participating from the comfort of your own home, our remote sessions are convenient and eliminate the hassle of commuting, and parking, and reduce the anxiety that often accompanies sitting in a clinical waiting room.
Using the latest evidence base, YPS Psychology’s therapists and counsellors use a range of approaches to help bring about lasting changes in your mental health. The skills you will learn will be useful and help you manage challenging situations, thoughts and feelings, your whole life.
Not a one size fits all approach
Whilst Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is the primary approach used; our therapists and counsellors draw on techniques from other evidence-based models, including, Person-Centred; Human Givens and Mindfulness, in order to meet your needs. Depending on your personality, learning style preference, and therapeutic goals, we may adopt different strategies from a range of therapies in order to create a bespoke treatment plan that will bring about helpful changes in your mental health.

More about the sessions
Following an hour long assessment of emotional need, weekly or fortnightly sessions are arranged, each lasting 50 minutes. An average of between six and 10 therapeutic sessions are typical and sufficient in eliciting positive change.
Psychometrics, such as, depression and anxiety questionnaires, measuring severity of your symptoms, are administered several times over the course of therapy. This helps to monitor your progress, and the effectiveness of the therapeutic approach being used.
You will be encouraged to practise the strategies introduced in therapy, outside of your sessions.
